About
The U.S. is grappling with the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression, and the Congressional Oversight Panel recently issues an urgent call for changes in strategy by the U.S. Treasury Department.
As a researcher and scholar, I have recently published a bold proposal “Good Asset Purchase Plan (GAPP) — A Strategy for Economic Recovery” in the SSRN working paper series.
I believe the GAPP paper represents a new thinking, shifting our eyes away from complex mortgages and to focus on the underlying real assets; it has the potential to help the U.S. Government to form a new strategy to combat the financial crisis and bring the U.S. economy to prosperity.
Given the complexity of economic issues, any bold new idea may seem controversial when it is first brought out. The idea underlying GAPP needs a process to grow from infancy to maturity through healthy debates, scientific research, and reality check. There are many aspects of the plan that require further consultation with various professionals and experts.
With this background, I dedicate this website for people to provide critic, inputs, and discussions of the Good Asset Purchase Plan.
